Melinda Braman
Senior Executive Warden, Michigan DOC
Melinda Braman began her career in corrections in 1994 while studying at Central Michigan University. Over the past 30 years, she has advanced through numerous leadership roles, including Deputy Warden and Warden at multiple Michigan facilities. Melinda helped launch the innovative Vocational Village program and has been recognized for her commitment to prisoner programming and staff development. She is an active member of the National Institute of Corrections (NIC), the Association of Women
Executives in Corrections (AWEC) and North American Association of Wardens and Superintendents (NAAWS).
In 2024, she was honored as the NAAWS Warden of the Year. Outside of work, Melinda enjoys time with her family and exploring Michigan’s natural beauty.


Adam Clausen
Director of Innovation and Social Impact
Adam Bentley Clausen is a Leader, Life Coach, Trainer and Entrepreneur whose purpose in life is to use his knowledge, strengths, skills and experiences to inspire others to live into their full potential.
In 2001 Adam was sentenced to 213 YEARS in federal prison with no chance of parole. He spent the next 20+ years transforming his life while compiling an extensive list of “extraordinary and compelling” achievements. Finally, on August 12, 2020 Adam was granted “compassionate release” and awarded a second chance at life. He’s now experiencing levels of success in his life most people only dream of.

RECAPPING LAST YEAR'S EVENT
3rd Annual Reentry United Conference 2024
Through funding and professional support from Michigan Works! West Central and the Michigan Department of Corrections Region 4 OS Reentry Program Reentry United Conference was launched in 2022 and continues annually.
The goal of the Reentry United Conference is to gather the Solutionaries annually for Networking, Equipping, Inspiration, and Solution Based Conversations at our Reentry United Conference. Our recent conference featured keynote speaker MDOC Director Washington, drawing a sold-out crowd of 270 attendees. Dr. Stanley Andrisse, P2P, shared valuable insights on reentry, alongside inspiring stories from successful formerly incarcerated individuals. Guests enjoyed entertainment and learned about the parole process, fostering connections for a brighter future beyond bars.
